Growing up in Albuquerque, NM, I always dreamed of making a big impact on the world. Discovering the saxophone in 4th grade changed my life. Discovering SKA music ignited a passion!
The 2-Tone SKA movement promoted community and racial unity. The songs spoke of friendship & anti-racism, two elements that have become cornerstones of my life.
The goal of racial prejudice is to break us down, to divide us. To keep the collective poor and steady bleeding. The answer, the oneness of humanity. This is the richness we need. When we do the work to first heal our own hearts, we can then bravely, boldly and confidently prevent the destruction of friendships and community. We can then sit at tables of justice as more than just the sum of an individual but as powerful unified communities. I am dedicated to helping others cultivate bold friendships then collectively & courageously standing & being counted for something larger than themselves.
